Icamani Golden Retrievers is a small, selective breeding program that focuses on producing goldens with beautiful conformation, sound health, correct temperament and talent for working in obedience and field.
The name "Icamani" comes from the Native American term for "walks along side", and it was chosen to describe my philosophy regarding the purpose of the Golden Retriever – a dog that is first and foremost a companion and a friend. All of my dogs live in the house and take part in my daily activities. We live on a beautiful horse farm located in Maple, Ontario (near Toronto) with many acres for long walks and lovely runs, and the dogs accompany me as I do my chores each day.
At Icamani, breedings only take place if they will enhance the Golden Retriever breed in conformation, health, temperament, and willingness to work. Both parents of every litter are certified for hips, hearts, and eyes and come from championship lines. From birth, puppies are lovingly raised in my home and are carefully socialized.
