Taylor was the first pick of the boys in the Gulliver-Amy litter. His
pedigree combines the best of Australian, Canadian, American and
English dogs who have proven themselves in the show ring as well as in
obedience and the field.
At Icamani, I keep females for future
breeding, but as #1 pick male, I knew that Taylor had to go to a show
home. After taking Taylor and his littermate, Gabby, in for
vaccinations, I asked my veterinarian, Dr. Gil Plummer, to help find a
great home for Taylor where I would have access to him for showing.
Dr. Plummer recommended John and Daniela Gatti who had recently lost
their male golden, Bronzson and who needed a companion for their older
female golden, Shania. This turned out to be a perfect, country home
for Taylor, and the Gatti’s have graciously agreed to my taking him to
shows.
On his first day of being shown, Taylor took Best in
Sweepstakes at the Greater Toronto Golden Retriever Club Specialty Show
under Ontario judge, Ms. Kim Bryk and won the 12-18 month class under
British judge, Mr. Trevor Smith. On the second day, at the Golden
Retriever Club of Canada Ontario Specialty Show, he again took the
12-18 month class, this time under breeder-judge, Mrs. Connie
Gerstner-Miller.
Taylor is a beautiful male who moves effortlessly
around the ring. He has a calm, biddable temperament that is the
hallmark of the breed, and I'm expecting great things from him in the future!
